About this shoe
The Men's Nike Shox BB4 Olympics Sneakers in White/Midnight Navy Blue/Metallic Silver in White, Midnight Navy, and Metallic Silver is a June 2026 retro of the Eric Avar-designed basketball shoe most famously worn by Vince Carter when he leapt over 7'2" French center Frédéric Weis during the 2000 Sydney Olympics in one of the most celebrated in-game dunks of all time, returning in the exact Olympic colorway of the original and following only a single previous retro release in 2019 — making the 2026 version just the second time the Olympic colorway has been available to consumers since the 2000 Games. The BB4 debuted the Shox cushioning system to the basketball world in 2000 alongside the running-focused Shox R4, with the four spring-loaded hollow foam columns in the heel creating the propulsive energy return platform that made the Shox line revolutionary at its launch and that Carter's extraordinary Sydney dunk — with its impossible hang time and casual execution over a professional basketball player's full body length — made permanently legendary in the collective memory of basketball and sneaker culture. The 2026 retro maintains the White leather toebox and upper side panels, Midnight Navy across the lower vertical cushioned paneling and heel, Metallic Silver on the heel stabilizer and branding accents, and Navy in the Shox unit, staying faithful to what is now recognized as one of the most historically significant Nike basketball colorways in the Olympic Games context. Released June 26, 2026 at $190 retail through Nike and select retailers globally with style code IR1983-100. The Men's Nike Shox BB4 Olympics Sneakers in White/Midnight Navy Blue/Metallic Silver was released on June 26, 2026 with a retail price of $190.
